READERS have given their opinion after news that rail passengers are to face yet another price hike.
Train passengers in England and Wales saw fares increase by up to 3.8 per cent on Tuesday.
This is the steepest increase since January 2013, according to figures from industry body the Rail Delivery Group (RDG).
Mail reqaders have given their opinion on the price rise.
Haslam Tyson said: "We are not getting access to 'quality' fast trains in the North. We should be getting even bigger subsidy. Levelling up the North with the far better services in the South."
Joshua McKee said: "As someone who rarely uses trains, sometimes as a one off to visit someone, I think the price for a return is a joke near enough £30. But still it's some working man or woman's income they need jobs and work too."
Lee Thompson said: "They don't run on fresh air guys, we all know diesel is going up in price fast! And it's only gonna get worse so buckle up for a rough ride."
Danny Cubin said: "That’s the issue. Boosting their prices for a service which is unreliable and uncomfortable. Through the winter the trains are freezing and overcrowded. Two coach trains for city line services is silly."
Harry Johnson said: "Easy answer - boycott the railways."
