The MW2 Beta ends this week on PlayStation consoles, but there is still plenty of time to enjoy the latest Call of Duty playlists and content released on PS4 and PS5.
The good news is that a second more accessible Modern Warfare 2 testing period will be hosted days after the first ends.
And here is the exact date and time the first PlayStation Access event for MW2 is scheduled to end in September.
Activision has confirmed that the MW2 Beta will end on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST.
No change in plan has been shared by the COD development team, meaning this is the most up-to-date schedule we have. Last-minute changes are always possible, but it seems more likely that extensions could occur next week during the open beta.
This will be when everyone can start playing as part of crossplay testing, beginning on Saturday, September 24 at 10AM PT and ending on Monday, September 26 at 10AM PT.

A message from Activision adds: “The second Beta weekend is available on all console platforms and PC, and is scheduled to run from Thursday, September 22 at 10 AM PT to Monday, September 26 at 10 AM PT. Crossplay will be active, allowing you to party with friends and the greater community, no matter what hardware they play on.”
Back to the current MW2 beta, those with a PlayStation console can download Modern Warfare 2 and enjoy the playlist currently on offer without having to pre-order the game.
This rule will stay in place when the next round of testing starts on September 22, two days before the open beta. Meanwhile, gamers on Xbox and PC platforms who have pre-ordered the game can also join on the same date.
This month’s beta testing phase is just another step on the road to the full launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on October 28. The next step will be the early access release of the new campaign, with Activision confirming that anyone who preorders a digital edition of MW2 will receive early Campaign access in addition to a host of other previously announced rewards. This grants you up to a week to complete the single-player experience.
