Call of Duty Mobile Season 8 brings significant change to burst-fire weapons, so here’s every buff and nerf in the Train to Nowhere update.
Call of Duty Mobile Season 8 arrives on September 7, bringing Cold War and Warzone’s powerful ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle and significant weapon changes Here’s every weapon buff and nerf in CoD Mobile Season 8: Train to Nowhere.
Call of Duty Mobile has a huge pool of weapons from almost every Call of Duty, with the past few seasons bringing weapons from the Black Ops series. BO4’s Switchblade X9 arrived in Season 7, and Season 8 brings the ZRG 20mm from Black Ops Cold War which is also an incredibly powerful choice in Warzone.
The ZRG arrives on September 7’s Season 8 update, but the update will also bring significant changes to the existing loot pool — especially to lesser-used burst-fire weapons.
Luckily, the Garena version has listed its full patch notes, revealing every weapon buff and nerf coming in the Season 8 Train to Nowhere update.
Black Ops Cold War’s KSP 45 arrived in CoD Mobile with the Season 6 update, and despite being burst-fire, it quickly became one of the best weapons in the game. Realizing burst guns’ potential, they’ve brought some of the lesser used burst-fire weapons to the meta in Season 8.
“The strength of the KSP 45 has shown us the great potential of the burst guns in the current release,” explained the devs. “It’s time to bring these diverse burst guns back to the battleground!”
The Season 8 update buffed the Swordfish, Pharo, and Chicom. The Swordfish had its fire rate and speed increased, while the Pharo now has much less recoil and more range. Finally, the Chicopm simply had its damage multiplier increased, allowing it to kill faster.
Plenty of other weapons received buffs and nerfs in the Season 8 update, so check out every change below.
Warzone Mobile arrives later in the year as well, so you can check out how to watch its reveal at the Call of Duty Next event.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is officially on the way, so here’s everything we know about whether it has cross-play and cross-progression.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is set to arrive later in 2022, and the devs have already teased Verdansk’s return. Cross-play and cross-progression have become an industry standard, so here’s everything we know about Warzone Mobile’s cross-play and cross-progression.
Following Call of Duty: Mobile‘s incredible success, it was no surprise to learn that Activision are bringing Warzone, their hit battle royale, to mobile devices. Aside from a short trailer teasing Verdansk’s return, not much is known about Warzone Mobile yet.
Warzone Mobile is expected to arrive after Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2‘s launch, so this has players wondering if mobile players will be playing alongside those on console and PC. Here’s everything we know about Warzone Mobile’s cross-play and cross-progression.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s highly unlikely that Warzone Mobile will feature cross-play with console and PC players. However, similar to most mobile games, we expect Warzone Mobile to feature cross-play between Android and iOS.
Not only would balancing mobile, console, and PC be a tough task, but Warzone Mobile is set to take place in Verdansk. With Warzone 2 bringing a brand-new map, the mobile and PC/console players should be on completely different maps and games.
It appears that Warzone Mobile will indeed have cross-progression, as the website link’s meta description said that the game will feature “authentic COD gameplay, shared progression, and up to 120 player count matches.”

As Warzone Mobile is expected to launch after Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, it will likely share its progression with these two games. What this would look like is anyone’s guess, but perhaps Warzone Mobile players will be using Modern Warfare 2 Operators and weapons on Verdansk.
We’ll learn much more about Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile at the Call of Duty: Next event, where content players will be playing Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.
Cold War’s ZRG 20mm has arrived in CoD Mobile Season 8, so here are the attachments and Perks you need to make the best ZRG 20mm loadout.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 has brought Black Ops Cold War’s powerful ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle so here are all of the attachments, Perks, and Equipment you need to build the best CoD Mobile ZRG 20mm loadout.
Another CoD Mobile season means more weapons from previous Call of Duty games have arrived, and Season 8 brings Black Ops Cold War and Warzone’s ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle.
The ZRG 20mm has quickly become the best Sniper Rifle in the game, where you’ll get a one-shot kill anywhere in the body. Its immense power makes it perfect for quickscoping, so we’ve got all of the attachments, Perks, and Equipment you need to build the best ZRG 20mm loadout for CoD Mobile Season 8.
We’ve built this CoD Mobile ZRG 20mm loadout for quickscoping, using its fast ADS speed to snap on enemies for a quick one-shot kill.
The YKM Combat Stock, OWC Laser – Tactical, and Stippled Grip Tape will vastly increase the ZRG 20mm’s ADS and sprint-to-fire speed, which is boosted by the MIP Light Barrel (Short) which also increases movement speed.
Finally, any Magazine attachments will hurt the ZRG 20mm’s mobility so instead, we’ve opted for Sleight of Hand to make reloading much quicker.
For Perks to use with the ZRG 20mm, Fast Recover is great for quickscoping as you’ll immediately start regenerating health after getting a kill. The fast attachments will make you more vulnerable to flinch, so Toughness is perfect for staying on target. Then, Dead Silence will keep you stealthy as it silences your footsteps.
You can use any Equipment you like with CoD Mobile’s ZRG 20mm, but the Combat Axe will allow for a quick kill if you’re caught in a reload, and the Concussion Grenade will slow down enemies making quickscoping even easier.
Call of Duty: Mobile players can unlock the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle at Tier 21 of the free Season 8 Battle Pass.
Once Season 9 arrives with even more weapons, the ZRG will then be unlocked through a challenge.
The ZRG 20mm blows any other CoD Mobile Sniper Rifle out of the water, but if you’re looking for another powerful choice then Season 7’s Switchblade X9 might just be the weapon for you.

Thanks to the meta description of the Call of Duty Mobile website, we know that the game will feature shared progression. While we don’t know what this shared progression refers to, all signs point toward Warzone 2.
We know that Warzone Pacific Season 5 will be the final season of Warzone Pacific. Therefore, shared progression with the previous iteration of Warzone seems unlikely. Instead, it’s possible that the devs are hinting at shared progression with Warzone 2 since it will be a brand-new title and potentially launch around the same time as Warzone Mobile.
Warzone Mobile's codename is 'Project Aurora' and is currently in Closed Alpha. The Call of Duty Blog says players can't sign up for the Closed Alpha, they will just be notified if they were invited. Also says content in it is not final/subject to change https://t.co/hzD0L4iFPW pic.twitter.com/6QoN9QSx4l
Thanks to a Call of Duty blog post, we know that the official codename for Warzone Mobile is Project Aurora. The blog confirmed that the game’s development is set to continue and that a Closed Alpha period would begin soon, “the game is still in development, and we are in the midst of our first gameplay test in the Project Aurora Closed Alpha.”
Unfortunately, players cannot sign up to the Alpha and can only access an early version of Warzone Mobile through private invitations.
The devs explained the reason behind the small test group, “the Closed Alpha is limited in size and with it we are looking to simply start to improve tuning, stress test matches, identify and fix bugs, as well as collect feedback and insights on all aspects of the game as new features come online.”
On September 8, the devs confirmed that Warzone Mobile is still in a private Alpha state, but we’ll let you know how to pre-register once that information becomes available.
On September 8, a new Warzone Mobile teaser hinted at the return of Verdansk. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it seems players could be heading back to Verdansk when Warzone Mobile releases. This is great for players who have been calling for the map to return.
In addition, it seems the meta description on the Warzone Mobile website also revealed the existence of 120 player lobbies. Given that this version of Warzone is on mobile, players may have expected a smaller player count, but it seems the devs are dedicated to delivering an authentic Warzone experience.
Call of Duty data miner ‘TheGhostOfHope, also hinted that the classic Verdansk map will make its return, prior to the teaser.
The leaker also claimed that the Verdansk in Warzone Mobile will be an alternative version of the classic map, featuring a mix of certain familiar POIs that fans have seen before along with some new locations.
